Plans are coming together for this bus trip. If you haven't got your name on the list in class do so. There are a couple of seats left. We have a bigger bus this year and have already got more people going than other years. Still waiting on confirmation from suppliers etc for costs. Won't be too much for a lovely day out.
You will need to bring, comfortable shoes for dancing outside, reading glasses and suitable clothing depending on weather (hats, coats etc) A name tag is a really good idea too. Will up date later on what else to bring.
Bus will leave Countdown supermarket carpark at 9.30am and return around 4.30pmish. I am trying to work out another pick up for Haumoana (if cost is ok) Napier dancers might like to get this pick up as well. Cars could be left safely.
We have another Demo at Mary Doyle resthome if anyone wants to take part. Email me to confirm. Last time was a huge success. We had about 10-12 dancers and the residents just loved our entertainment. It was a really festive afternoon. Thanks to all who attended. Great community spirit. The next date is 9 October 2007 11am for approximately 3/4 hour.
Class for revision, learners and upper level dancers is still on hold waiting on National Service Club. I am looking in other avenues. Will keep you posted.
Cheers, Happy Dancing Felicity

Kim my sister
Those of you who have met Kim my sister either at class or on the cruise will be interested to know what she is up to. She has being doing a web designer/builder course in Melbourne where she lives and has built my wonderful web site. She will update it for me periodically. So keep going back to the gallery and dance sheets and events. Problem is I have to give her all the info. She has renovated her home this year, from top to bottom. Had 2 cats that she adopted when she was in Vanuatu and one cat Maggie got run over a few weeks ago. Since then she has bought a new cat Heidi (sounds corny at first but, Heidi hides all the time. Now thats ok then to call Heidi, Heidi, isn't it) !!??
Kims latest thing is she has lost another 6 kilos at weight watchers. She has been losing weight for years but could never lose the last few kilos. Over the years she has lost heaps. She even ran her own version weight loss group in Vanuatu. Anyway, she has now been accepted (only four chosen in Australia) to have a photo shoot for the weight watchers magazine and story on her weight loss. Good on her. Go Kim. she gets flown to Sydney all expenses paid and made up, pampered and dressed up all day. That happens in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see the mag.

Weekend in Upper Hutt 7/8 Sept 2007
Guess what we did in Wellington at the Gordon Elliott workshop. We left at lunch time on Friday after class. Stopped in Dannevirke for coffee and arrived at motel just in time for dinner. I think the most of the motel was filled with line dancers from Hawkes Bay. We all had dinner in my unit and Emily came up from Wellington city. We went off to the social after dinner and danced for 3 hours. Not much sleep that night, but we were ready for dancing and learning. We learnt 9 dances and danced from 10am to 4pm. Whew! We were tired out (putting it nicely) We then had dinner at hall went back to motel for an hour then back to dancing at 6pm until 10.30pm. We literally danced our socks off. Only problem was we had trouble getting the socks off when we got home. We crashed that night but were up bright and early to head to Greytown for breakfast. Colleen, Pam, Annette and Margaret, oh & Ray the driver were great company and we all got to know each other a little better including who can snore the loudest etc etc. A fun weekend was had by all. Learnt some fabulous dances, met some interesting people and the hospitalily was great.

What a great social
The social Saturday 1 Sept. was a huge success. I have had so many positive comments. They have been wonderful to hear. I am glad so many had a great time. There were 60 people at the social. We only had two breaks, one near the beginning and one for afternoon tea. That's 3 solid hours of dancing. We had a great choice of requests which kept the dance floor full at all times, there was something for everyone. Maybe we should do it again. Also what a fantastic afternoon tea. Thanks go out to all of you who supplied the wonderful food and special thanks to the people who helped out either at the door or in the kitchen or who supplied raffles etc. Special thanks to Judy, Joy, Gail, Colleen and Pat Parsons. The social was a success because so many people contributed and participated (Thats all of you). All the raffle prizes went to line dancers, wasn't that great. There were also so many spot prizes. Awesome.
Well, this weekend I am off to Upper Hutt to see Australian dance instructor and choreographer Gordon Elliott. He is fantastic, we dance so many of his dances or dances that he has taught in NZ. Most dances become favourites. It is a fun weekend and all we do is dance, dance, dance. Ray is driving me and four other ladies down, we will stay in a Motel that is filled with line dancers from around NZ. Ray & I will also catch up with Emily. She will come up from Wellington and stay with us. Fun Fun Fun. So watch out for the new dances that I bring back.
If anyone reads this before tomorrow, Friday, we have a seat and bed available.
Also coming up is Blossom Parade day, you might like to join us in the walk (more fun) 15 Sept, Saturday, let me know.
Happy dancing, Felicity
