dancing breakup
The last day of dancing on Friday 9th Dec was excellent. The requests were great and the dancing was hot. The christmas carol singing was exceptional.
The Hibernian Club put on a great lunch which was such good value. We had a lovely time.
I hope you all have a wonderful christmas and new year. See you then.
In Taradale we had a beautiful morning tea. You are all wonderful cooks. (oh and dancers).
At the Heretaunga Club, we had a fast and furious dance session as usual and then went on to '@ ease' for a cuppa and enjoyed each others company.
Thank you to everyone for my christmas gift. I so appreciate it. You are all too much. I am humbled.
Once again, have a lovely christmas and new year. Enjoy your families.

Spring lunch at my home
We had a beautiful sunny day. Amazing considering the weather that we have had. We had a wonderful turnout of dancers come together to enjoy dancing and a delicious lunch. We have some great cooks.

Anyway, it was a special day. We were very lucky that Anna Jarvis came to sing for us. She has got a gorgeous voice, she left us wanting more.
We are a very special group of people, from all walks of life who come together and enjoy life and each other, this makes me a very lucky person to have you all in my life.
Check out the photos of the day. (coming soon)

Topp Twins

What a special treat it was to go to see the Topp Twins. They were excellent entertainers and kept us amused for two and a half hours. Very clever. Their singing was beautiful.
Thirteen of our group went out for dinner first at Breakers. The meal was great. Haven't been there for a while (Napier) and I thought it was great value and the meals on the night were fantastic. The service was great and they put us in the Masonic Room. Which is a small area divided from the public but we could still be amongst them.
It was a very lovely evening. The company superb.

Lunch at Off The Track Restaurant

What a lovely day we had today. We couldn't complain about the meals. The only thing was they were huge. Service was great too. Easy payment system.
There were 28 of us who went and the company was excellent. We were seated at two long tables but because we were situated away from other diners we could easily mix and mingle. Also the atmosphere was great. We stayed there until after 3 and felt very comfortable. We weren't hurried out so we could talk a while.
It was really lovely I enjoyed it and I have had so many positive comments. Thank you all.
Mum and I then went over to West Quay in Ahuriri to view John Lancashire's art exhibition. I think it is on for this week only. If you are interested you could phone the art gallery. This is Johns first exhibition and I was really surprised. I loved some of his art. I love his colours. Mum has got one of his paintings in her home.

Learners progress
I wish I had time to create another class for the learners to carry on. But the next step is to move on to one of my other classes.
Friday is the perfect next step. The level never goes above Beginner. There are not too many turns and the speed of the dances is slow to moderate.
Wednesday class is from learner level dances to intermediate dances. I have many people who start from scratch in this class and they progress well. I have one lady at the moment who has only had a couple of lessons. She is doing great.
Monday level is beginner dances to intermediate. Mainly intermediate. We do faster dances as well. Excellent workout.
Friday and Wednesday are excellent workouts as well. For my level of fitness Monday is great.
Another 4 week block learners class
Hi
I have decided to do another 4 week block learners class.
Starting 28 October and finishing 18 Novemeber 2009
this will take us nearly to the end of the year.
Other classes finish the week starting 5 December 2009
I have decided not to take the Wednesday off before Labour weekend.
Lunch on 8 October at 'Off the Track'
We can all be on separate accounts. The waitress will give us all individual numbers and you order on that number and pay on that number. Very good idea. Very efficient.
Have a happy dancing week and tap those toes and feel the beat. Now there could be another song and dance.
cheers
Felicity

Remember your water
Hey it's really important at this time of the year to increase your fluid intake especially when you are dancing and exercising.
Sometimes we wonder why we are so tired or have trouble concentrating or our muscles might be tight or sore. Usually it is because we are not drinking enough water.
Water flushes so many toxins from the body. It is a great opportunity at dancing to drink more and feel better.
New class going great
The new learners class is progressing well. They have even learnt a waltz that I have taught to Friday and Monday class.
We have a lunch coming up at 'Off the Track' and Lunch and Dancing in Felicitys garden.
See me for details.
Have been to Wellington to a Line dance workshop with Gordon Elliott from Aussie. Learnt 9 new dances. I have only taught one so far. I have to wait until you guys catch up to me anyway.
This weekend went to Auckland for Ray. Not sure if I'm coming or going.
The garden is awesome at the moment isn't it. Goes with our wonderful weather.

Quiz night for Daffodil Day

Hey Joy. Hope everyone reads your comments. See Hi Joan comment.
We did have a bit of fun, even if we left some of our brains at home. We did really well considering how hard the questions were. A bit serious really. Our other team WillowG8 did a lot better than us. They looked terrific too. But Barry, we thought we would let you win this time.
I had trouble with my camera so I will wait for Mary to send me some photos of our two teams. We were very brightly adorned and so was our table thanks to Joy. Our team was called the Banana Splits and our table was decorated to fit the theme. WillowG8 also put in a great effort too.
Team Banana Splits-Sue Bird, Judy R, Joy M, Annette R and Amanda
Team WillowG8 -Mary & Barry J, Gay & Bill H, Helena & Don DeB, (couple of school teachers!! ay Barry)
thanks to Don and Bill and Barry and Amanda for joining our line dancing teams. Great stuff.
Cheers

Great couple of weeks of line dancing
Hi all you happy dancers
Good to hear from you Annie.
Annie says hi to everyone and she will be back at dancing when she has finished all of her studying. She has started taking ante-natal classes. Good luck Annie.
She misses line dancing and especially misses everyone at dancing.
We have had really great numbers on a Friday. The most we have had for a couple of years. Wednesday had a couple of small classes due to so many away on overseas holidays or a couple of weeks away in NZ. The overseas holidays sound amazing. I wish you people would add your holiday adventures on this blog. Also you guys who are about to go, tell us all about where you are going. These trips sound so exciting. I wish I was going too.
Photo is of my garden over winter. All the daffodils are out now nearly finished 7 varieties and I see some freesias are out. The roses are starting to leaf. Oh how I love spring. It is coming.
Have a great week.

Whats coming up?
I am organising a trip to see the Topp Twins at the Napier Municipal Theatre on 1 Nov 09. It is a 7pm and I thought we could go for dinner first. Haven't decided where yet. Will decide when I get numbers in. We have started to get a few names in already.
Also, the National Bank is having a Fun Quiz night at the Napier RSA on Wednesday 26 August. Teams of 6 $60.00 this includes a small supper and prizes. Also there is a charity auction. This is in aid on Daffodil Day. Anyone interested. I have suggested to Ray that he gets a team from work and we can beat them. Of course.
Anyway reply to my Blog. I don't update it because no one comments back to me. So sad. Not. Ha Ha Ha.
The photo is when a group of us line dancers went to the Lavender Farm in Waiohiki
for lunch and a tour.

Happy New Year

Well here we are in 2009. Isn't the weather amazing. I am just loving being on holiday in this weather.
I had a wonderful xmas. Xmas day was great. We all dressed up and had a competition who was the most outrageous. We were really weird. It was great. We had alot of fun. We sang and played secret santa and badminton. We had some friends over for lunch. Don't know what they thought of us but a friend of mine came over and wasn't surprised.
For New Years Eve, Ray and I were shouted a night at the Crown in Napier. We had a lovely time. Went out dancing and a show. And watched the world pass by from our balcony.
Emily has been home since xmas. Kim came over from Melbourne and the whole of my family and mum and Kim and partner went to Mahia on xmas eve to take Dad's ashes. It was exactly one year since he passsed. It was a really great day and we met up with Dad's kids as well. Lovely day.
It has been great having Emily home. We are getting on really well. She has decided to do a few arty projects while she home. She hasn't been bored yet.
Sam started his new job on Monday 5th. He had been waiting a couple of months to see if he was going to get it. He found out he is colour blind and there was a bit of a hitch. Had a 2nd opinion and he is only slightly colour blind. He is working for Ontrack and reckons he is going to be rich. Hope so. I think I will have to take most of his money off him. I won't tell him yet.
It was excellent having Kim here. She just loved getting dressed up for xmas. There are not many people like me who get enthusiastic about such things. Emily and Sam love things like that too. Strange huh.
Anyway, have a wonderful summer and drink plenty of water and try and get some exercise. Dancing starts soon.
All the best
