Melbourne holiday

had an awesome time in Melbourne. Went shopping oh yes and shopping and shopping and also shopping. But we also went to see to fantastic shows. Hairspray, which was electric from start to finish. So much colour dance music and technology. The next night we went to Mary Poppins. Really really great. Fantastic cast scenery singing dancing and costumes. Both so different but so wonderful. We also had amaaazing food.
Went to Zumba Fitness 3 nights and looovved the classes. Kim, who said she didn't want to try Zumba is now doing it 5 days a week.

Facebook

You can now find me on facebook. Also I made a group just for dancing. So if you join it will only have dancing news and only dancing people. Please comment or whatever you do and then I can learn to use it.

Pizza Day at Mary's for Taradale Wednesday Class

We had a fun time at Mary's home. Mary and her husband Graham put on an exceptional lunch. Mary prepared all the pizza dough ready for each of us to roll on to our pizza tray to go straight into the pizza oven. Graham did the cooking and it is a very hot job. He cooked our delicious pizzas to perfection. Mary had prepared so many fillings that we were spoiled for choice. There must have been 30 different toppings. Yummy. She also made her very special fruit flans which are a wonderful treat. These were served with 2 kinds of icecream. Mary had placed small tables around her beautiful garden with flowers and candles and tablecloths. We sat under umbrellas and awnings and the weather was so warm it was amazing. Well done to Mary and Graham. Very special. She then topped it off with tea and coffee and individual lavender bags to take home. We all took a small plate of sweets to go with the coffee. More dancing is now needed to get rid of excess baggage around the tum tum.

Australian Instructor John Bishop in Napier

It was a great night at the Napier RSA. John Bishop was in New Zealand for clogging and decided to make a stopover in Napier. His group did clogging with our Hawkes Bay dancers and also entertained us with some fabulous clogging themselves.

We also line danced of course. Alot. He taught 3 dances. A waltz 'Morning has broken' an easy fun dance 'Hello Dolly' (which I have already taught in 2 of my classes). Have to say I can't remember the other dance. The dance sheets will appear on my website.

Zumba Free Class

Zumba is going great. We are learning new dances and everyone is doing so well. Zumba is easy and it is different. It is so nice to exercise a little differently and really enjoy it. Physically and aerobically you get a better workout than line dancing. With line dancing you get a lighter workout but you have to use your brain so much more which makes line dancing challenging.
It has been proven that dancing is such a great way to exercise because you are learning and moving at the same time.
If you bring a friend to Zumba - you and your friend get the class free. This is a great way to see if you or your friend like the class.
I have booked Scholars Restaurant for Wednesday 24th November 12pm for lunch. I will have a notice in class for names for booking purposes. This is a great meal especialy for the price. Price not known yet. The students at the EIT put their new skills to work to put on an exceptional banquet.
Please use the comments page at class. I am given mental notes to remember but I get so many that it goes in one ear and out the other. Hole in my head.
Happy Happy Dancing (great dances at the moment)

Anna's Last Day

On Wednesday 22 July we had a farewell morning tea for Anna. She and her husband have gone to Australia to be with family etc. (Hope you like the etc part Anna). We had a lovely morning but it was very hard to see her go.

There is definitely a gap in Wednesday and Monday class. Timing is improving though. It is funny how missing one person can change the dynamics of a classs. The back rows have definitely stepped up to the mark. Wonderful.

Zumba Photos

We have now done four classes. Great effort to everyone. We will slowly pick up the routines but so far everyone has progressed so well. Each week we are getting new participants and I have had really good feedback. Thank you to you all.

Here are some photos. I am not a great photographer, I don't take enough time. Doesn't matter though.

First Zumba Class

What an awesome morning. Everyone was buzzing, especially me. Thank you to the 100 odd people who turned up for my first class. What a party! We had fun and also lost some weight and got fitter. How good is that. One lady described the class as better than ... (use your imagination).
Can't wait for the next Zumba Class.

Doug and Jackie Miranda

There were over 20 of us from each of my 3 dance classes that went to this show. It was fabulous and well worth more than the $25. We had a bar meal and enjoyed each others company.

We are back to dancing Woo Hoo

Great first day back. We had a mini social and everyone coped very well in the heat. Learnt a new dance from the recent Jackie and Doug Miranda workshop (Just a Dream). Over the next few weeks we will learn some more. Great crowd turned up and it was great to get together with everyone.

Looking forward to starting all my classes.
